Objectives

TPS B2 focuses on sectoral analysis of the circular economy, with two objectives:

  1. Évaluer les besoins en ressources du Québec afin de définir une stratégie globale pour
  2. Identifier les enjeux, les secteurs et les leviers à prioriser

Examples of Research Questions and Issues

  • How can a plurality of analyses applied to different sectors guide government strategies, policies and actions?
  • How can we improve Quebec’s raw materials management strategy?
  • How can we take geopolitical aspects into account?
  • How can we develop and maintain an integrative collective awareness of the micro dimensions (psychology of circular behavior, redistributive effects across different population groups), meso (organizations, cities and regions) and macro (national circular policies) in policies to support the circular economy?
  • What are the complementarities between the circular transition and other transitions?
  • Should certain transitions be prioritized?

Steering Committee

TPS B2, which focuses on sectoral analysis of the circular economy, is led by a team of three researchers. The steering committee is responsible for proposing TPS orientations, and represents a diversity of sector-based circular economy research.

Sophie Bernard

Ph.D., Professor at Polytechnique Montréal and co-head of Axis 4

Jean-Philippe Harvey

Ph.D., Professor at Polytechnique Montréal

Armin Jabbarzadeh

Ph.D., Professor at ÉTS

Mobilized Experts

The members of the steering committee are joined by TPS B3 experts. Regularly mobilized to contribute their points of view and expertise, they help to broaden the representativeness of organizational diversity and push forward thinking on the theme of organizational circularity.

Study on batteries and circular supply chains for electric cars

The aim of this project is to explore strategies for implementing circular economy practices in the electric vehicle battery sector to improve sustainability and economic resilience. The project is broken down into three sub-objectives:

  1. Durability of critical materials
  2. Application of the circular economy framework
  3. Policy and market mechanisms
