Regular Members:
  • Are active researchers attached to a post-secondary educational institution in Quebec (university or college);
  • Are recognized by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) according to status 1 or 3 of the common general rules;
  • Hold a doctorate if attached to a university;
  • Have expertise in a research field related to the circular economy;
  • Contribute significantly through their scientific productions (research projects subsidized by recognized funding agencies, regular publications, communications, student supervision, etc.) within at least one of the RRECQ’s research axes;
  • Intend to participate actively in the life and activities of the RRECQ (seminars, conferences, calls for projects, committees, etc.).
Common general rules of the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ)

Status 1 – University researcher

Person who :

A) is remunerated :

  • for a regular teaching position, or for an academic teaching position under grant, in a university recognized by the FRQ to manage funding,
  • or as a full-time researcher holding a Ph.D. in an institution recognized by the FRQ to manage funding and part of the CIUSSS, CISSS or other public institutions in the health and social services network with an institutional university affiliation;

AND

B) has a Quebec university affiliation that enables it to manage graduate students and research projects independently.

Also qualified:

  • the person at the start of their career, meeting criterion A) and awaiting qualification
  • qualification for criterion B) by his or her establishment;
  • the person retired from a recognized establishment who has ceased to satisfy criterion a) while pursuing research or supervisory activities in the said establishment with the latter’s formal commitment.

Status 3 – College researcher

A person holding a Master’s degree employed for the equivalent of one full-time task in college educational institutions recognized by the FRQ to manage funding and college technology transfer centers (CCTT). Program rules may provide for more specific criteria.

This person must also have the professional autonomy required to direct research projects and hold :

  • a teaching position at a college, OR
  • a research position at a CCTT, OR
  • a position in a college where at least 75% of the work involves research.
Associate Members:
  • Are attached to a post-secondary institution;
  • Have expertise in a field of practice or teaching related to the circular economy;
  • Intend to participate in the life and activities of the RRECQ (seminars, conferences, calls for projects, committees, etc.).
Student Members:
  • Are part of the student community, full-time or part-time, at the college level, or at the 1st, 2nd or 3rd cycle of university;
  • Have a thesis, dissertation, directed work or internship project that is related to the work and activities of the RRECQ;
  • Are directed or co-directed by a regular member of RRECQ.

Student membership ends when the student completes his/her studies.

Status within the FRQ: student or postdoctoral fellow, as the case may be.
