RRECQ has been collaborating with Circular Innovation Council (CIC), previously known as Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO), since its beginnings. We are delighted to formalize this collaboration, signing onto the CELC pledge.
Canada-wide Collaboration for a Circular Economy
RRECQ’s commitment to CIC demonstrates the Network’s willingness to work in an interdisciplinary way with researchers and organizations based across Canada. For the transition to take place, collaboration is essential at all levels.
CIC gathers more than 200 leading organizations from across Canada and the value chain who are committed to supporting the circular economy. Its work is driven by three main pillars: behaviour change through education and programs; advocacy and policy development; and delivering research and pilot projects.
About CIC
Circular Innovation Council (CIC), previously known as Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO), was first established in 1978. They have implemented and assisted in many programs over the years. In 2020, they rebranded as Circular Innovation Council, and continue to develop programs and pilots to advance the circular economy in communities across Canada through their actions.
CIC launched Circular Economy Month in October or 2022 and co-host the Canadian Circular Economy Summit (CCES) since 2023 with Circular Economy Leadership Canada (CELC).
