The MicroLabs research project builds on the material flow analysis project conducted in a hospital setting. This analysis made it possible to measure material consumption within a hospital and to identify several challenges related to their use and management. MicroLabs were developed to provide concrete solutions to these challenges. They take the form of co-creation workshops that bring together various stakeholders in the healthcare network to address issues related to the consumption, use, management, and end-of-life of material resources. Four MicroLabs were thus conducted, focusing respectively on material management in the operating room, material recovery strategies in a hospital, the consumption and use of disposable gowns and sterile drapes, and the consumption and use of intravenous bags and tubing. The report presents the approach and process used to conduct the MicroLabs, as well as the results obtained and their analysis for each of the four issues studied.
