The Research Chair in Technology, Sustainability, and Society (TDS Chair), in collaboration with the RRECQ, is issuing a call for papers for its second annual symposium titled “Technology, Sustainability, and Society: Building a Responsible Transition.” The symposium will be held on June 26, 2026, at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQAC).
Researchers, students, and practitioners are invited to submit proposals for research presentations showcasing original work that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and practices at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and societal issues.
The call for applications is open until June 15, 2026.
Topics
Presentations may address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Responsible Consumption and Digital Behavior
- Video Games, eSports, and the Social Impacts of Digital Technology
- Data Governance and Digital Trust
- Ethics, Inclusion, and Digital Justice
- Measuring the Environmental Impact of Technologies
- Technology and Work (Automation, Platforms, AI)
- Digital Transformation and Society
- Artificial Intelligence and Societal Impacts
- Emerging Technologies and Responsible Innovation
- Sustainability and Socio-Ecological Transition
- Circular Economy and Sustainable Business Models
- Fintech and Responsible Financial Innovation
Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be short research papers (maximum 2 pages, including references). Proposals must:
- Clearly state the research question
- Describe the methodological approach
- Highlight the established or expected contributions (scientific, practical, and/or societal)
Submissions in English are accepted, but all presentations must be delivered in French on the day of the symposium.
