Biography
Marie-Luc Arpin's research focuses on the paradoxical foundations and limits of "problem solving", in the broadest sense of the term. Her main fields of interest are organizational and social paradoxes, reconfigurations of organized collective action in the context of socio-ecological transition (e.g. within so-called "smart" cities), and the epistemological challenges of modeling-measuring-managing organizational performance - more specifically, environmental performance. One of the main thrusts of his research program therefore focuses on the growing complexity of administrative decision-making, and the basic assumptions by which this complexity is confronted within organizations (e.g. via dashboards, tools and models for optimizing environmental and social performance, the use of various participation processes, etc.).

Sustainable interorganizational collaboration: role and contribution to the transition to the circular economy
Description
Inter-organizational collaboration has long been identified as a key to solving complex problems, including those related to CV. However, both studies and field experience show that collaboration is often fraught with pitfalls that hinder the creation of genuine CV projects. One of the reasons for this is that inter-organizational collaboration is not limited to a formal structure or a sequence of activities deployed within a project management logic. It is a complex process that revolves around a dynamic – specific to each collaboration – between individuals and organizations. The aim of this project is to: review the state of knowledge on inter-organizational collaboration in the context of CV from the perspective of the management discipline; produce a synthesis-critique to develop an initial analytical framework for the Cité de l’innovation circulaire de Victoriaville; identify the research angles to be prioritized to support the shift towards CV in Qc cities/territories.
