Biography
Sophie Brehain holds a bachelor's degree in administration and a master's degree in environmental management. She coordinates the environmental and sustainable development statistics team at the Institut de la statistique du Québec. She has 23 years of experience and has contributed to the implementation of government sustainable development indicators.
More recently, she has coordinated various editions of the Survey on Sustainable Development, Eco-Responsible Business Practices, and Clean Technologies in Businesses, which now collects data on the circular economy.
She has undertaken numerous developments in environmental statistics for Quebec, such as measuring carbon footprints and material productivity, developing a conceptual framework for measuring the green economy, and deploying environmental accounts.
