Biography

From 2008 to 2022, I was Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics from 2008 to 2016, then from 2017 to 2022, Vice-Rector, Academic and Student Affairs and Executive Vice-Rector of Université Laval. Nevertheless, I have maintained a sustained research program during these years, having supervised or co-supervised more than twenty graduate students, including seven in the last five years. I have published 48 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, including 15 from 2018 to 2022. My research has focused on the relationships between forests, forest products and climate change. This has led me to use life cycle assessment (LCA) to measure the environmental footprint of buildings and public infrastructures. My most recent research projects have led me to measure the challenges of end-of-life products and the need for the Circular Economy. Since my return to professorial duties in June 2023 and for the years to come, I intend to devote myself to teaching, research and community service in the field of climate change mitigation through the establishment of the Circular Economy.
