Biography

Naomi Keena is Assistant Professor at McGill University's Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture. Her research combines life-cycle design approaches with data visualization and computational techniques as a means of assessing socio-ecological factors in architecture. She directs TRACE Lab, McGill's architecture and circular economy think tank, where she leads a team of researchers investigating data-driven circular economy approaches to major challenges such as Canada's housing supply challenge and environmental sustainability in the building sector. Prior to joining McGill University, Keena was a founding member of the Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture (Yale CEA), where she was a research scientist and postdoctoral associate, as well as a lecturer at the Yale School of Architecture. She holds a PhD in Architectural Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Keena is a Fulbright Scholar and has published and presented widely.
