Biography

I'm a teacher and researcher-creator in the field of environmental art. My research-creation interests are mainly focused on the question of intersectorality and the recycling of Industrial Forest and Mining Residual Materials (IFMR) in digital and additive manufacturing.

I am co-founder and co-director of the Laboratoire intersectoriel d'impression 3D - Art, Sciences Naturelles et Génie at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Its mission is to rethink and redefine modes of object fabrication in art, design and engineering, and preconceptions related to the production, management and recycling of IMRW. Over the past 5 years, my team and I have carried out intersectoral research-creation projects in 3D printing, more specifically related to the development of biomaterials based on RIFM and practices in ecological art and ecodesign, with the support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Nouvelles Frontières competition (SSHRC); the Fonds québécois de recherche sur la société et la culture, Audace competition (FRQSC); the Fondation de l'UQAT; and the Johan-R-Evans Leaders Fund.

I also hold a doctorate from the Université du Québec à Montréal in Études et pratiques des arts (Canada) and a doctorate from the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in Arts, visual arts and musicology (France). My work has been presented in exhibitions and art festivals including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Canada), the Forum des images and Rencontres-Internationales in Paris (France) and Berlin (Germany), the Festival International d'Art Vidéo in Casablanca (Morocco), the CAPC Musée d'Art Contemporain in Bordeaux (France) and Asahi Art Square in Tokyo (Japan).
