Biography

Kaiwen Zhang is Associate Professor in the Department of Software Engineering and Information Technology at ÉTS Montréal (Université du Québec). He was previously an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow in Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich (2015-2017) and a member of the Middleware Systems Research Group. Dr. Zhang received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from McGill University in Montreal, and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. His research interests include blockchain technologies, publisher-subscriber systems and decentralized applications, including circular supply chains. Dr. Zhang's expertise spans distributed systems, networks and data management. His research is published in leading distributed systems conferences, such as IEEE ICDCS and ACM Middleware.
