Biography
Holder of a PhD in Chemistry from the Université de Haute Alsace (Mulhouse, France), Houssein has over 20 years of international experience in applied and fundamental research in materials science (wood transformation, surface modifications and characterizations, nanomaterials, nanoadhesion, nanotechnology, organic and inorganic materials, bio-composites, polymers, chemical modifications, mechanical characterizations, etc.). Since 2015, he has held the position of Scientific Director at INOVEM, where he plans and supervises the research work carried out by a multidisciplinary team, in addition to coordinating several large-scale research projects related to the circular economy (wood residue recovery, furniture recovery, etc.).

Office furniture recovery in Québec: constraints and prospects for improvement from a circular perspective
Description
The project will assess the system to recover and reclaim office furniture in Québec by evaluating initiatives, identifying stakeholders and creating an inventory of furniture types and their characteristics.
The obstacles and levers to the development of an office furniture recovery sector will also be identified.
National and international monitoring of the end-of-life management of office furniture and related business models will also be carried out.
