Biography
Hélène Lebel obtained her doctorate from the Université de Montréal under the supervision of Professor André B. Charette in 1998. She then joined Eric N. Jacobsen's group at Harvard University as an NSERC postdoctoral fellow. She began her independent academic career at the Université de Montréal as an assistant professor in 1999, thanks to an NSERC professorial fellowship. She was promoted to associate professor in 2005, and to full professor in 2010.
The quality of her research has been recognized by numerous awards, including the Enantioselective Synthetic Enantioselective Synthetic Chemistry Research Award in 2005, the Johnson & Johnson Focused Funding Grant Award in 2008, the Merck Frosstop Award in 2008, the Merck Frosst Centre for Therapeutic Research Award in 2009 and the Clara Benson Award in 2014.
She held the Canada Research Chair in Organometallic Catalysis (Tier II) from 2006 to 2016. She has published over 100 publications/book chapters, cited over 6000 times (h-index GS: 37) and presented over 100 invited lectures worldwide. She is Chairman of the Editorial Board for the journal "Chemistry Select" and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the journal "Reaction Chemistry & Engineering".
Her research program focuses on the development of new green catalysts and innovative continuous flow processes, as well as the discovery of recyclable reagents. recyclable reagents. More recently, his research program has included the study of water-soluble organic electrolytes for redox flow batteries.
