Biography

Eric Peterson is an interdisciplinary researcher focused on promoting practical approaches to moving society towards a sustainable paradigm. He does this by linking elements of microbiology and engineering to develop scientific solutions that meet the needs of an increasingly complex society. He is particularly interested in circular bioeconomies, and carries out projects in biomass valorization, bio-based chemicals and sustainable food production. He is also active in the study of cocoa and coffee. Professor Peterson is committed to developing a global network of researchers whose expertise supports the various components of these projects, including scientists, decision-makers and industry.
