Biography
Dr. Amine el Mahdi Safhi is a civil and materials engineer specializing in low-carbon concrete. Affiliated with Østfold University College (Norway), he currently divides his time between academic research and engineering expertise at Englobe in Quebec. He holds a joint PhD in civil engineering from the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) and the Institut Mines-Télécom Lille Douai (France), a master's degree in urban engineering, and a master's degree in blue economy, which strengthens the link between infrastructure, the circular economy, and sustainable maritime transition. He has completed postdoctoral fellowships at IMT Nord Europe (France), Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Morocco), and Concordia University (Canada). His work focuses on the development of sustainable building materials, alternative binders, artificial intelligence applied to cementitious materials, and responsible management of by-products. He has published several scientific articles and contributes to international networks in Europe, Africa, and North America. Passionate about outreach, Dr. Safhi regularly participates in conferences, develops public policy guidance notes, and serves on several technical committees.
