Description
A letter to the editor will be co-written by an editorial board of experts, and will aim to provide an informed opinion on why the circular economy is struggling to gain a lasting foothold in organizations, despite the availability of funding, technical solutions and support resources.
Two main objectives are pursued:
- To offer a literature review summarizing the obstacles and levers to the adoption of circular practices in organizations;
- Propose a critical analysis of the gap observed between circularity intentions and their realization, identifying systemic, institutional, organizational and cultural obstacles.
The initiative is part of a drive to nurture scientific and societal debate on the conditions for a successful circular transition, by combining the perspectives of research, field expertise and cross-sector experience.
