Researchers from RRECQ Research Area 4 are serving as guest editors for a special issue scheduled for fall 2027 in the Journal of Circular Economy. The issue invites submissions that will focus, on the one hand, on how institutions and social dynamics are structured and coordinated around circular economy initiatives, including, in particular, the role and influence of various stakeholders in the governance of this economy. Second, the issue aims to provide an analysis of both the positive and negative effects that public policy instruments, as well as other organizational and citizen-led initiatives, have on the circular transition and society as a whole. Research focusing on policy tools, environmental justice, the legitimacy, or the acceptability of circular measures is particularly welcome. Those interested in contributing to this issue should submit an abstract of their proposal no later than December 1, 2026, following the instructions provided on the call for papers page.
