If you weren’t able to attend the RRECQ’s annual general meeting last week, we’re pleased to share some important news with you that will shape the RRECQ’s future over the next two years.

An extension of our mandate to continue our mission

Following an initial five-year term, we are pleased to announce a two-year extension of the RRECQ’s mandate, made possible by the ongoing support of the Fonds de recherche du Québec. This decision reflects the trust they have placed in us and the relevance of our mission: to promote the transition to a circular economy in Quebec through research, innovation, and collaboration. These two additional years will allow us to consolidate our projects and partnerships, deepen our research on the circular economy, and disseminate it throughout society to address current and future challenges.

An updated scientific program

Our scientific program has been updated to better reflect our members’ research realities and the sector’s priorities. It features more clearly defined research areas and objectives tailored to current research challenges.

Changes within the team

The end of this first term also marks the departure of two of our co-leads. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Emmanuel Raufflet and Mathias Glaus, co-chairs of Research Areas 1 and 3, respectively, for their dedication and exceptional contributions to the network. Their expertise and leadership have been instrumental to our growth.

We warmly welcome Rafael Ziegler, a professor at HEC, and Andrew Henderson, a professor at ETS, who are taking over these roles; their expertise will enrich our vision and strengthen our initiatives. In addition, we congratulate Marc Journeault, co-chair of Research Area 2, and Sophie Bernard, co-chair of Research Area 4, on the renewal of their terms, as well as our four co-leads, Myriam Ertz, Cécile Fonrouge, Ben Amor and Fanny Tremblay-Racicot, who will continue to drive our ambitions with energy.

We would like to thank the Fonds de recherche du Québec for their unwavering support, without which this past and future endeavor would not have been possible. Their confidence in our ability to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field of the circular economy is a key driving force for the RRECQ. We reaffirm our commitment to honoring this trust by pursuing our mission with ambition, creativity, and collaboration.

These announcements mark the beginning of a new phase for the RRECQ, a phase in which we will continue to innovate, bring people together, and inspire. We invite all our members, partners, and supporters to join us as we write the next chapters of this shared journey together.

Stay tuned for updates and join us for our upcoming events!
