Biography
Salwa Cherkaoui El Baraka is an urban architect, authorized to undertake projects in her own name. She pursues a dual professional and academic career. As an international consultant, she engages in resilient and committed territorial development and urban renewal projects in France and the Middle East. Additionally, Salwa is a doctoral researcher at the esteemed Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, specifically within the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, which is ranked as the second-best architecture faculty globally according to the QS rankings. Her research focuses on the advantages and limitations of reusing excavated land as a form of frugal construction material. In this capacity, Salwa has participated in numerous international conferences, workshops, and expert panels, and her work has been published across various scientific publication channels in Europe, the United States, Peru, Cuba, Morocco, and beyond.
