Biography

A geographer-designer-developer trained at UQAR, where he worked in research-teaching, Nicholas now acts as a research professional for Canada's first municipal research chair on sustainable cities. He supports the City of Victoriaville, its businesses and stakeholders in sustainable development and the circular economy. His role is characterized by the ideation/drafting of special, major and unifying projects, the animation/mobilization of key players, the search for financing and leadership in their realization. He is also working with the Office of the Chief Scientist of Quebec on the deployment of the municipal chair/scientific council model in Quebec. He organizes international summer schools and knowledge transfer activities. He has also been immersed in Quebec's "innovation zones" projects, having led Victoriaville's "Cité de l'innovation circulaire" innovation zone project from its inception and for over 2 years. He also laid his groundwork in industrial R&D as an industrial designer, as well as in agroecology and the solidarity economy by founding the Coopérative les Choux Gras, a permaculture innovation and regeneration center, where he was general manager for nearly three years.
