Biography

Josiane Nikiema is a specialist in the field of environmental sciences. She holds an engineering degree in process engineering, a master's degree and a doctorate in chemical engineering applied to environmental protection from the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada. Currently a professor at the École de technologie supérieure de Montréal (Canada), she is developing technologies to improve the recycling of organic solid waste. Between 2011 and 2022, she worked at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), where she led the international research group working on circular economy and water pollution management issues, to address the promotion of sustainable and inclusive economic growth and agricultural sector development in various countries struggling with the adverse effects of rapid urbanization and climate change.
