In this webinar, Professor Andrew Gonzalez will discuss the key ways in which knowledge from biodiversity science can be combined with the circular economy model. He will present our current understanding of biodiversity evolution and the risks that arise from the unsustainable loss of biodiversity. Professor Gonzalez will show how monitoring and indicators can be used to assess our progress, integrate knowledge across all sectors and guide actions away from a linear economy. Ecosystem restoration and protection must be combined within the framework of the circular economy if we are to achieve the societal transformation needed to meet the goals and targets of the UN CBD Global Biodiversity Framework.
