Biography

Jacques Papy is a professor in the Department of Legal Sciences in the Faculty of Political Science and Law at the Université du Québec à Montréal, where he teaches company law, corporate finance and business law. His current research focuses on various aspects of the legal framework for the carbon market created by Quebec's cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gas emissions. Before joining UQAM, he worked for many years in the field of business and securities law, with several national law firms. Professor Papy is a member of the Quebec Bar, holds a doctorate in law from Université de Montréal and a master's degree in law from McGill University.
