Biography

Dr. Fliss' research interests include the isolation, characterization and production of lactic acid cultures and probiotics with antimicrobial activity, as well as the in vitro and in vivo study of their mechanisms of action; lactic acid bacterial strains with high probiotic potential; the role of probiotic bacteria in the prevention of and resistance to enteric infections; methods for rapid detection of pathogenic microflora (genetic probes, PCR, RT-PCR, NASBA); bacteriocinogenic bifidobacteria; in vitro simulation of the human digestive system and biologically active peptides.
