Biography
Frédéric-Georges Fontaine joined Université Laval's chemistry department in 2004 with a PhD in organometallic chemistry from Université de Montréal and an NSERC postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley. He was awarded tenure in 2013 and has held a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Green Catalysis and Metal-Free Processes since 2018. His research expertise focuses on the development of main-group catalysts for the functionalization of inert molecules, including the reduction of carbon dioxide to methanol derivatives.
