Biography

Professor of Economics at the University of Montpellier since 2014, Francesco Ricci previously worked at four universities (Paul-Valéry Montpellier, Poitiers, Cergy-Pontoise, Carlos III Madrid). Since his doctoral studies at the University of Toulouse 1, he has been interested in the possibility of reconciling economic growth and environmental constraints, and the associated public policies, through macroeconomic and dynamic analysis. In particular, he has studied how the relative mineral intensity of infrastructures linked to renewable energies influences the socially desirable trajectory of the energy transition, highlighting the challenges of recycling the minerals contained in such equipment.
